4 Years Babyyy

last night jevan and i celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary.
this year was very different to the last.
we normally have a "budget" but never stick to it.
UNTIL this year, because we are now living in our own house and pay our own bills we didn't have a choice this year.
i have to say it was the best anniversary yet.
we had only $30 to spend on presents for each other which made us see how much we actually knew each other.
our plans however did get changed a little because of a little hiccup.
we had a beautiful picnic at home (a bit different from the botanical garden view we had planned).
our menu was simple.

quiche, prawns, brie, cabanossi, crackers, dip and fruit (knowing that the 4 year tradition is fruit & flowers I tried somehow to incorporate that in the picnic)
our babysitter then came (Thanks Nan!)
we put the munchkins to bed and then headed out to Dough Box at Newtown (BEST CREPE PLACE EVRRRRRRRR)
after that deliciousness we drove to Milson's Point and sat on the wharf and enjoyed the view and the company.

best company.
best food.
best anniversary.
EVER.

My Super Power

makai is almost three.
he is at the age where a kiss makes everything better.
if a finger gets jammed, he trips over or bangs his head on the door he runs to mum to "kiss it all better please," and then he continues to play.
it makes me feel somewhat like i'm a super hero and that's my super power  : ).
i think all mothers inherit this.
i enjoy these times because the day will come when I will have to send him off into the world and there will be moments that a "kiss it all better please" won't do.
so for now, i'll enjoy my super power.

1/365

most of the times we do the same old stuff everyday,
and i have to admit i feel pretty guilty as a mother because i don't think i'm "educating" my children enough to the world and opportunities around them.
i noticed my sister in law was doing 365 days of play, i loved this idea.
so i haves been on countless website (with the help of pinterest) and come up with a list of activities that I can do with the boys each day (min. cost of course).

Day One/365

to start off we baked cookies yesterday, while braxton was sleeping.
makai LOVES helping me in the kitchen.
he always pulls up a chair to see what I'm doing and to see if he can help.
even though it's such a mess and it takes it twice as long to do everything, i love it.
but i'm pretty sure his favourite part of baking is eating it before the cooking process even begins.
i'm surprised we even had cookies at the rate he was eating the dough.

Family Date 1.

being the new year one of our goals as a family is to have regular family dates.
all together and separately with one of the kiddies.
so this month we started our 12 dates by going into the city.
the boys love the city.
all the boats, trains and cars - not mention the monorail.
they are in transport heaven.
makai rode his scooter ALL the way from darling harbour to the harbour bridge and half way over the bridge and back.
braxton has no fear and was trying to work out a way he could get to the boats from the bridge (this kid scares me).
it's amazing how much you learn about them when thats your whole focus.
i'm with them ALL day but don't get to spend "quality" time with them individually, because of all the daily tasks that have to be completed and then there's the fighting and if one has something the other has to have it, being a mum is great fun : ).
we ended our date by going on the carousel at darling harbour and they LOVED it.
the smiles on their faces were priceless.
i couldn't help but laugh, smile and be grateful for the two amazing (and challenging) boys my heavenly father has blessed with me.
