The Weekly Grammy Dates

every week my wonderful mum shouts the kids and I something, I call them our "Grammy Dates"
normally we go out for lunch but this week she suggested we go back to Calmsley Hill City Farm.
we took Makai there last when he was 18 months old.
it was a winner, it was not only educational but they had so much fun.
we fed goats and sheep (which braxton LOVED he was all about the patting and feeding the animals, makai just wanted to throw the food and run away.)
i love that they are both individuals.
makai's favourite part was the tractor ride, he can't stop talking about his tractor ride.
braxton's favourite part was feeding the goats and camels.
if you haven't visited this farm you should, it's extremely child friendly and the kids have a ball.

thank-you grammy for our "big adventure"

Family Date 3.

This week the boys went to their first EVER show/fair.
It was SO much fun (not to mention SO expensive).
We saved our penny's - literally and have to say it was so worth it.
Makai was super excited, I love the fact that he is at the age where he is starting to understand things and he gets so over excited about it, how could you not be excited to go with enthusiasm like that.
Braxton just wanted to ride horses and eat fairy floss all day long.
Makai was in heaven with wood-fired pizza, fairy floss, dippindots, ice-cream and slurpies (this kid has expensive taste - seriously.)
We saw cows, horses, ponies, chickens, roosters, turkeys, alpacas, dogs, cats, baby chickens, mice, deers, ducks, cows, basically you name it they had it.
I unfortunately walked right through cow you-know-what and ALMOST slipped over (not my finest moment.)
Their was ute parades, police cars, big trucks and bmx bikes.
Then came the rides - the winner of the day was the Big Fun Slide, runner up was the train ride )it was a pretty close call.)
All in all the Castle Hill Show was a winner.

A Big Adventure

Makai is at such a fun age at the moment, everything is a big adventure.
He finds the fun in everything, a trip to the mailbox is a big adventure and he finds things to talk about in the three steps he takes to the letter box.
Saturday was raining and Jevan was studying, not the best combination when you have two little kiddies to entertain (which you have done all week).
So instead of going crazy we had a little big adventure and headed out to Windsor.
It was cold and miserable but I absolutely LOVED the company.
Best date I think I have ever been on (sorry joovy).
We ate ice-cream, ate pastries from the bakery, jumped in puddles, went to a lolly shop, explored old wagons and wheel mill's.
I got to enjoy the little personalities of my 16 month old and almost 3 year old.
I don't get to do that during the week, our weeks are CRAZY BUSY.
I am so grateful for these two little men in my life and what they bring to our family.
People thought I was crazy for becoming a young mum and thought I had no idea what I was doing.
I gave up a lot but I don't regret anything.
The times I get to spend with my kids I realise how precious they are and how blessed I feel to be their mum.

p.s - if you have never been to Windsor, it's a must.
