Sunday Funday

sunday seems to be the boys and my worst day of the week.
when it should be completely opposite.
getting to church on time is a mighty challenge.
yesterday is was a complete fail.
church started at 11 and the ormsby's rocked up at 11:50.
wow.
so we sat and ate lunch while we waited for sacrament to finish.
i can't even tell you how exhausted i was once we got there.
but the win for me yesterday was,
actually getting them all there fully dressed.
it's the little things.
these are the real mum life diaries.

Colour Me Rad

oh my.
if any of you have done a colour run you will know what that means.
if any of you haven't done a colour run, you NEED to.
it's so much fun.
we took the two older boys to the Colour Me Rad 5k run yesterday.
they were so excited.
i had told them about it in the beginning of the week and gave them the option to come or stay.
braxton jumped right on board.
he was so excited to be able to throw colour at everyone.
he keep telling me all week how he was going to get my face.
(built up anger against all those times he got sent to time out i think)
makai was a little harder to persuade,
because he didn't want to miss out on soccer.
so on friday night i used my secret weapon,
"but makai, manning and beckett (his cousins) will be there."
and that ladies and gentlemen is how you bribe a child into doing what you want.
to makai this wasn't a fun run, this was a serious competition.
he ran out of the starting gates and did not stop.
that little champ was determined to win.
he ran the WHOLE 5 km's - literally.
he wouldn't even stop for the colour stations.
and braxton, well he got a free ride.
ON MY BACK - the whole way.
next year he'll be staying home.
i love how each day you discover something new about your children.
we had no idea makai had jevans competitiveness that drives his determination.
it was crazy awesome.

School Mum

being a first time school mum has opened up a whole new world.
but the one thing i cannot get,
is how mums out there have the time in the morning to get them selves all done up.
today is the 5th day since i washed my hair.
(it is starting to stay up all by itself that's how oily it is)
it's up in a top knot bun which is sitting on the side of my head instead of the middle,
i am wearing the same clothes i wore yesterday
- i did change it up by wearing different shoes.
and my face, i can't even describe how many pimples you could count today.
and this is me on a daily basis.
the only time i probably look presentable is on mondays,
because my hair was washed the sunday before.
and i'm still late to school.
these ladies have award winning hair and make-up.
a wardrobe that belongs on the red carpet,
and they are wearing high-heels.
WHAT ?!
i have a confession yesterday i didn't even have a shower before school drop off.
i came home from the gym,
had just enough time to get the kids ready and we were out the door.
i think for these reasons kiss and drop was invented.

Soccer Star

last saturday was pretty exciting day for us.
our mr makai scored his FIRST goal and got man of the match !
WHOOP.
this boy has been working so hard to get that trophy.
he was so excited he couldn't even control the big smile that was plastered across his face.
it was one of those parenting moments you never forget.
jevan and i jumped, cheered and screamed.
i don't know about jevan,
but the air i was standing around was receiving a whole lot of fist pumps from me.
its been a learning experience for us having our first child in club sport.
makai is not like jevan or i.
we are both superbly aggressive when it comes to playing sport.
and when jevan plays at least he is coordinated.
i am aggressive and UN-coordinated.
makai is COMPLETELY the opposite.
he is kind and placid.
and for the first couple of months he had more fun chasing his shadow then the ball.
through the last weeks he is starting to comprehend what he is meant to be doing.
i couldn't be more prouder of his placid nature on the sporting field.
he will be a better sportsman then his parents.
and he will find the fun that is intended when playing sports.

Catch Up

well you would think by my lack of blogging that we have been up to nothing.
it's been quite the opposite.
life just gets crazy busy sometimes and the only way i can keep up with it,
is by crashing out on the couch at 8:30.
i have missed a bunch of my favourite shows.
in the last couple of weeks of not blogging we have
hosted a bridal shower, danced away at a first disco, bought our first SEVEN seater (boo yah), been to the zoo, had flip out play dates, soccer training, soccer games, family photos, fed mouths countless of times, adventured our way around botany bay national park, found a new fruit market, booked our trip away to the snow, went crazy at the aldi snow sale, been to swimming lessons, seen pitch perfect 2 (HILARIOUS), been to the flower market, visited with friends, had wood fire pizza's (totally worth blogging about), overdosed on thai, helped out at sport and gross motor at kindy and to top it off we took the kiddies into see vivid.
WOW.
life is crazy isn't it.
being a mum is a juggling act.
i would not want it any other way.
