this labour long weekend we camped.
jevan and my friend tav's husband had to go to young mens camp,
so we decided to take the boys away for the weekend.
we went down south, to huskisson.
we loved it would be an understatement.
it was so much fun.
the weather was spectacular.
on our road trip down we stopped at kiama to check out the blow hole,
seven mile beach because this is where jevan has fond childhood memories of where he visited his grandpa and the donut van in berry.
when we arrived at huskisson i realised that i had left the poles and pegs at the tent back home
- long story !
so my wonderful family came to the rescue with a tent, gazebo and air mattresses.
(the air mattress i purchased from kmart was meant to be a double but when i opened it, it was a single and missing the plug - ARGH.)
i was so extremely grateful for them.
the beach we had right out backdoor was beautiful.
soft white sand and crystal blue water.
we took the kids down to the beach the first night to do sparklers after dinner.
luckily it was way too windy so we had to come back up to the camping grounds,
because being on a beach in pitch black is FREAKY.
tav and i ran up those stairs so fast my thighs hurt the next day.
the next day we went to nan and pops for breakfast and then headed for a full day at the beach.
i was so impressed with the boys they stayed all day from 9-5 and embraced every moment.
we went to shark net beach and hyams beach.
finally got to tick that one off my bucket list.
the kids crashed out pretty early this night from all the sand and sun.
our last day was sunday,
we checked out green patch, we went fishing and actually caught a fish (with bread) at wollamia boat ramp.
you guys need to check this place out the sting rays that swim underneath you are impressive stuff,
the boys thought they were awesome.
and our last stop before home was ice cream at kiama.
this little getaway was PERFECT.
boys and camping go hand in hand.
