Primary Presentation 2015

this year was braxton's first primary presentation.
and like makai's first presentation last year,
it went down in a way i didn't expect.
braxton is my wild boy,
but many people don't know he is my VERY shy boy to.
he is my mini me.
all day yesterday i kept making him practice and telling him he would be ok,
and that it won't be scary.
and i could see in his face that he didn't want to do it.
when it was time to go he bravely took his brothers hand and they walked up together.
sadly braxton got missed and didn't get to say his part.
i think deep down inside he was relieved but my heart broke,
for my little boy who bravely pumped himself up for his moment.
i could tell what his favourite songs were.
Follow The Prophet and I Am A Child Of God.
he sung them so proudly with a kick in his step,
i could even tell his legs were having a little boogie in follow the prophet.
here's to next year !

Safety Procedures

i love how my boys look out for each other.
especially braxton,
today he made an extra effort to ensure his brother was nice and safe on the swings today.

fail.

Rolls and Bulls

our half yearly picnic after general conference at the temple was great.
we packed all our favourite things,
the boys were happy with cheese and bacon rolls and couple of little chocolates.
they sometimes have easy to please moments.
this day i learnt a very good lesson.
the best moments spent with the boys are not the ones when we spend a bucket load of money on the them - these days are really fun and easy though,
it's the times when we haven't had much mula and
we've got to spend time talking with them and playing with them.
yesterday we taught them bullrush.
i was actually surprised how quickly they picked it up
and there were NO tantrums.
WOW that is what i call a success !

i love my little family.

Sweet Memories

bring envious is one of my biggest downfalls.
and i completely know it.
when i see people travelling i get superbly envious,
ad it occurred to me the other day of how spoilt i was being.
i have seen a lot of places,
i am so blessed.
i was driving along with jevan and i had a thought.
if i never got to go overseas again thats ok.
some people never get to travel ever in their whole life.
i have been able to do so much already.
i need to focus on that instead of letting my grinch come out.
so today i decided to have a look at my pictures to remind me of all the great places I've been to and all the memories i have been blessed to make.
it's a bummer though because all my pictures of 2009 and before are all on hard copy and they are packed away in boxes,
i need to get those bad boys out.

Dresses And Lawns

you know those moments where you are SUPER proud of yourself you jump up and click your heels.
i had one of those today.
jevan has been super busy and stressed with work so i've been trying to do things around the house to help him out so he doesn't have to worry about doing his chores when he gets home.
so today in my pretty dress with my hair looking pretty half decent
 (for me,)
i mowed the lawn for the first time ever
- all by myself.
i even got it started by myself !
(with a little phone call to my dad)
i was so proud i literally jumped up and clicked my heels
screaming out "BRAX I DID IT!"
oh man my neighbours probably thought i was a weirdo.
i can now add lawn mowing to my house duty resume.
BOO YA !
it was such an achievement for me that i HAD to blog it.

Mix/Matched Fashionistas

we all know braxton LOVES to dress himself.
i think its his favourite part of the day to decide what superhero to wear
and what brightest colour shorts to pair it with.
some days are pretty bad and i really REALLY don't want to take him out in public.
so luckily for me,
my MBFF has a daughter who shares the same appreciation that brax has for clothes to.
so when brax is having really really mix-matched days,
i can hang out with her and we can laugh all about our children's fashion sense.
and it doesn't seem so embarrassing in pairs.
we also love taking pictures to embarrass them at a later date.

Labour Day Long Weekend

this labour long weekend we camped.
jevan and my friend tav's husband had to go to young mens camp,
so we decided to take the boys away for the weekend.
we went down south, to huskisson.
we loved it would be an understatement.
it was so much fun.
the weather was spectacular.
on our road trip down we stopped at kiama to check out the blow hole,
seven mile beach because this is where jevan has fond childhood memories of where he visited his grandpa and the donut van in berry.
when we arrived at huskisson i realised that i had left the poles and pegs at the tent back home
- long story !
so my wonderful family came to the rescue with a tent, gazebo and air mattresses.
(the air mattress i purchased from kmart was meant to be a double but when i opened it, it was a single and missing the plug - ARGH.)
i was so extremely grateful for them.
the beach we had right out backdoor was beautiful.
soft white sand and crystal blue water.
we took the kids down to the beach the first night to do sparklers after dinner.
luckily it was way too windy so we had to come back up to the camping grounds,
because being on a beach in pitch black is FREAKY.
tav and i ran up those stairs so fast my thighs hurt the next day.
the next day we went to nan and pops for breakfast and then headed for a full day at the beach.
i was so impressed with the boys they stayed all day from 9-5 and embraced every moment.
we went to shark net beach and hyams beach.
finally got to tick that one off my bucket list.
the kids crashed out pretty early this night from all the sand and sun.
our last day was sunday,
we checked out green patch, we went fishing and actually caught a fish (with bread) at wollamia boat ramp.
you guys need to check this place out the sting rays that swim underneath you are impressive stuff,
the boys thought they were awesome.
and our last stop before home was ice cream at kiama.
this little getaway was PERFECT.
boys and camping go hand in hand.
