Flowers & Smiles

last week i felt like i've had the whole world on my shoulders.
(probably a mixture of hormones and the crappy weather)
sometimes life just gets you down and its hard to get up.
jevan noticed this and when i opened the door to let him in one night last week
he had flowers in his hand.
i could not help but smile.
this has made the list of the sweetest things he has done for me.
(and should be blogged about to remember)
this little gesture has completely turned my attitude around.
i'm so grateful for the little things in life.

#MumLifeMomentNumber7891

this morning was a rush,
actually these last two mornings have been a rush i feel against the school bell.
today i have oily hair,
which pretty much holds its shape when i take it out of my mum bun.
a face full of breakouts,
who needs make up during the week - it's only made for sunday, right?!
and i am wearing the same clothes that i wore yesterday because they were the quickest to grab,
don't worry i do have fresh underwear on.
this is totally normal for a mum to re-wear clothes one day after another
- or at least thats what i think.

Kid-Free

this weekend i am about to embark on my first kid-free weekend,
in six years.
i have never been without my kids for more the 1 or 2 nights.
i have never been away without jevan or the boys with me.
it's kinda weird.
and i'm missing them already.
i don't know what one day is without kids.
braxton is not coping with this out of all the boys.
the other 2 are so excited to have boys weekend of pizza, rugby and bowling.
he has been in tears the last two nights over this.
it kills me.
i wish i could roll him up in the my suitcase so he could come with me.
we definitely know who is the true muma's boy out of the three of them.

Rugby Season Done

the rugby season wrapped up for us last saturday.
i have loved watching their love for the sport grow.
their understanding of it now compared to the first game has grown so so much.
the first week braxton would run the opposite way he was meant to
and makai would always run out of the cones.
braxton loved this last day of rugby especially.
it was the day he had been waiting for,
ever since makai got his first soccer trophy.
he got to get his first medal.
you could not wipe the smile of this boys face.
it was spread ear to ear.
he wore it proudly until last monday.
it now stays safe under his pillow and he checks to make sure its there every night,
i'm so glad he is proud of himself.
makai was clearly ecstatic to pose for a photo for me.

Girlfriends

i love hanging out with my oldest friends.
they always make me laugh and
for a moment help me forget about all my adult problems.
i feel like I'm a teenager again
(for a split second)
until we are all partied out by 9pm.
yesterday we had a girls night and it was so much fun.
we made ourselves silly sick on churros and then played aqua golf.
they are my oldest friends.
they have shared many of my important life moments.
but what i love most is,
even when they don't know that i'm having some struggles
(i'm not much of a feelings talker-er)
they still make me feel better by the time we are done hanging out.
that is what friendship is all about !

Athletics Carnivals 2016

the best thing about having two boys in school,
is that i get to watch them both in the same events at school.
this last week makai had his on monday and braxton on wednesday.
they both thoroughly enjoyed their carnivals.
makai's was more of a fun day with lots of different gross motor activity.
my favourite game to watch from his was toilet flush.
(its a version of stuck in the mud)
watching the year one's working out how to do it was hilarious.
his highlight was the class race at the end.
- makai's oooober competitive.
(gets it from his dad)
bracky loved his first athletics carnival.
they did hurdles
(where bracky ran around the high ones - smart kiddo)
egg and spoon race, relays and he got a class running race to
and too his surprise and mine
his little legs ran him all the way to first place.
i was in shock and as i was taking pictures and realising that he was in out in the front
put my camera down to turn into one of those loud parents cheering their kids on.
he was super super proud of himself.
he slept with his ribbon on for two nights.
i have finally convinced him to leave it under his pillow so he won't lose it.
i love that i am able to stay at home and go to all these school events.
they are precious moments that i get to spend with my boys.

Familia Reunion 2016

this last month we got to have a family reunion.
my whole family hasn't been together in 6 years.
i can't believe how quickly it has gone by.
my nephew has gotten married and i have had 2 extra children in that time.
we had such fun week laughing and going to bed late every night.
we ate ourselves silly.
my boys needed a week after to recover.
we played games and played tourist.
we got updated family photos (finally).
but my most favourite part of all was watching my boys have a ball with their cousins.
they love all their family and enjoy every moment when they are around.

He Wanted The Blue

yesterday zayden ormsby was on fire.
he chucked tantrums
ALL.
DAY.
LONG.
and it all started over giving him a yellow bowl
-instead of the blue one.
then it went on because i put toothpaste on his toothbrush
- and he wanted to do it.
then it went on because i put him in his seat
-and he wanted to climb up by himself.
then i opened the door
-but he wanted to do it.
it went
on and on and ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(there isn't enough exclamation marks in the world to cover my feelings towards this day)
after we did out nighttime routine
he smirked at me and cheekily said
"i lub you mum"
yes,
well boy you better because no one else would stick around with you after the day you just gave me.

The Woods

i got to take family photos for one of my oldest friends.
it was so much fun.
the kids were a ball to photograph.
nauvoo is the big sister,
she is such a great help.
(i tried to convince her to quit year one and be my assistant.)
cooper has the most beautifulest eyes you have ever seen.
jed is the quietest baby you have ever met.
i held him while i was taking pictures of nikita and matt
so he didn't crawl into the ocean and kept forgetting i was holding him.
they were the best first family photo shoot i could have ever asked for !
here's a couple of my favourites from our afternoon.

Open Classroom's

during this last week
jevan and i got to go to each of the two older boys classroom for education week.
they were so excited that their dad got to come for the first time ever.
braxton was up first.
he showed us how he can write his name,
he made a fruit face,
he drew us a picture and he made me a necklace with the assistance from dad.
he even took us for a race around the car track.
makai was second.
he was so excited when not only dad and i showed up but his uncle skye, aunty sarah, his cousin and grammy showed up.
(we took up half the classroom.)
we all got to help makai do an art activity.
we all pitched in with the cutting
and with the extra assistance he was the first one done.
after that he took us to the reading corner and showed us his impressive reading skills he has been working very very hard on.
these two little people i used to call my babies are growing into boys.
i hate and love it all at the same time.
i'm so excited for the adventures life has in store for them.
too see them grow and explore if my most favourite part of being their mum,
nothing will ever come close to the feeling i get when they achieve something.
their perfect little smiles can warm my heart in a matter of seconds.
a hug can turn any doubt i have away.
i will be forever grateful that they chose me to be their mum.
