Girlfriends 27.

27.
when did this happen?
this year i am officially beginning to age,
- i have to wear socks to bed to keep my feet warm and i found GREY hairs.
today my boys made me feel super special.
even the main one who is all the way in perth.
jevan had hid my presents around the house so this morning he called the boys and told them where they were.
they helped me unwrap them,
and gave me my first ever home-made birthday card.
my favourite apart from all the paw patrol stickers used to decorate it said
"I Love You On Your Birthday"
i'm glad to know they love me but i hope it's everyday not just my birthday lol.
i even got to have a long hot shower (wash my hair and all) wait for it
- WITHOUT any arguments or boys coming in to dob or complain.
that was a present all in itself.
the weather changed my plans for the hike i had in mind.
so instead we headed to newtown for this vegan gelato place i have been wanting to try and we had gelato for lunch.
the boys thought this was the best thing ever.
we also had a little stop by black star pastry for a car ride home treat.
the boys enjoyed looked at all the graffiti art
- we even came across batman.
coming home we talked all the way about anything and everything.
we sang songs and laughed.
when we got home a courier arrived with a box of roses from the main boy.
the card was perfect.
my boys make me so happy, all four of them.
we had el jannah's for dinner and it was delish.
my parents gave me one of my most favourite presents.
my blog published into a book.
they get me one every 2 years and they are on my top 3 most prized possessions.
my nephew and niece have this tradition where they send us a video for our birthday,
this year they did not disappoint,
i think it has been my favourite thus far.
and my sister sung by herself to my voicemail a big happy birthday for me.
26 was good to me and i'm excited to see what 27 has in store for me.

The Great River Walk

these holidays have gotten off to a roaring start
(except monday - but we aren't including that.)
this is what we did on our tuesday holiday adventure.
jevan is away which means i can't get to the gym
so i combined some exercise with an outing.
i chose to take the boys to do the great river walk by the nepean river.
would highly recommend this.
they loved it.
they have their bikes and scooters,
i packed us all lunches,
we took frequent stops to look at the things we could find.
our first finding was a big lizard.
i don't know who was more exited the boys or i.
the boys did some rock climbing.
we stopped and looked at all the sculptures along the way.
the weather suited the day we had
- perfect.
the boys were champed and walked for 1 and a half hours without complaining.
the gummy bears i packed sure helped that situation out.
LOTS of bribery.
one of the highlights would have to be,
zayden singing "this little piggy" rhyme but adding
"this little piggy went to k-mart"
 lol,
we are clearly k-mart regulars.

Weekends Like These

this last weekend we got to spend it in what i think
was a little slice of paradise.
it's one of my all time favourite places to visit,
huskisson - jervis bay.
i never get sick of it.
white sand and blue aqua water,
it's pure bliss.
the reason we got to have a little getaway was to celebrate my nan and pops 80th birthday.
what an amazing achievement and great excuse to celebrate.
we spent the morning before the party at the beach,
we went for a swim,
found seashells,
built sandcastles,
walked in search of rock pools and crabs,
we found a tree to climb on,
we ate ice-cream before lunch time,
had fish and chips for lunch,
went and said hello to the sting rays and pelicans,
celebrated with delicious food (my fav the lemon meringue pies),
had a big break with family.
as we started on our way home we got a call that there had been ticks found near the trees the boys had been playing on.
so we pulled over just before heading up to kangaroo valley,
in front of a herd of cows.
(zayden was in cow heaven)
we took this as a perfect time to have a caramello koala pit stop
as jevan went through our car fibre by fibre.
the cows gave the boys the best entertainment.
this weekend has been one of my very favourite spent with my most favourite boys from this year.

Bracky's Angels

for the last couple of weeks braxton has been asking me alot of questions about angels and heaven.
i hadn't thought anything of it,
i just thought he had a primary lesson on it.
on sunday as i was making his sandwich and he was sitting up chatting away to me
(as he does - bras is my chatter)
he said "mum you know why i have learnt to ride my bike without training wheels?"
m: "why bracky?"
b: "my angels have been helping me"
m: "oh really, are they boy angels or girl angels?"
b: "they are boy angels"
m: "do you know who you angels are?"
b: "no but they have died"
b: "they also come and play with me at school"
b: "and when you were in adelaide mum, one of the angels came and stood next to daddy and spoke to daddy and then he went back up to heaven."
i told him how special it was that he can see angels and that he's allowed to talk to them if he ever wanted.
i was tearing it up by this point.
he didn't need any prompting when he was telling me all this,
he spoke as if they were apart of his every day life.
i would like to think that his angels are his uncle and papa.
two people he has never met in this life.
i love picturing his uncle and his papa standing on either side of him being his guardian,
protecting him and keeping him safe.
