Zayden Turns 6

I think I say this with all my boys whenever it's their birthday
and I'll say it again.
WHEN DID HE TURN 6 ???
our baby boy is six and he thinks he's like 14 by the way he goes on.
he is strong willed, stubborn, crazy shy, the biggest homebody
and totally runs this household but he's got a heart of gold.
he went to school with his lolly bags,
that he put together himself,
- did I mention he's also a perfectionist?
he played his first game ever of fortnite with his brothers,
he ate KFC for dinner,
his request was popcorn chicken and Mountain Dew freeze
and to top it off he had an ice-cream freddo cake
with the Nicholls family calling in to sing him happy birthday.
he LOVED his big day.
we did his birthday adventure a couple days later.
zay LOVES ninja warrior,
it is his goal in life to become one
and because he was 6 he was finally old enough to do a ninja warrior course
so that's exactly what we did.
he LOVED the warp wall,
I can't remember how many times he ran up it
but that was for sure his favourite.
he is one of a kind our zayden,
he is our little fire,
(this meaning suits him to a tee)
he is the biggest mumma's boy and
we are so glad to have him in our family
he makes it all the more colourful.

Easter 2020

well easter 2020 was not at all what we had planned.
in January I was planning a trip to Ballarat and Glenrowan
but then covid19 had other plans.
so then I planned to watch Jevan at easter comp
but then covid19 had plans.
so I planned to camp at newnes and do apple picking
but then covid19 had other plans.
so then we planned to do a
bike ride to rouse hill town centre,
watched Rise of the Guardians,
games
and an outdoor camp out.
it was definitely not the easter we had planned but we really loved it.
if covid19 never happened we honestly never would've taught the boys how to play Cluedo,
we never ever would have let them have a sleep out on the trampoline
and never ever EVER would we do bike ride to RHTC.
the easter bunny still came
(thanks prime minister for letting him into the country),
we had our hot cross buns while we watched conference,
the boys had chocolate for breakfast
(BIGGEST mistake I've ever made),
we spent quality time with eachother.
I am loving all these restrictions being put in place
because we have been able to slow down and really enjoy each other.
we really focussed on the saviour this year
and I think if covid19 wasn't happening
we would be rushing around doing our normal traditions,
which I completely love
but it was nice to slow down and focus on what really matters.

New Decade

the year is 2020.
we now have a 10 year old, 8 year old and a 6 year old.
we are in quakers hill ward and living in the ponds.
jevan is working for a building company called BUILT
and I am working in admin at Riverbank Public School.
we are currently living through a global pandemic,
there is virus called Coronavirus (COVID-19) that has spread throughout all the world.
it has caused the world to close not only international borders but state borders as well,
we are in social isolation which means not going out unless it's classed as "essential" so basically if you don't need it to survive it can wait.
when out you have to be 1.5m apart from other people,
you need to hand sanitise on a regular basis,
trying to find toilet paper, pasta, hand sanitiser, or even soap is ridiculously hard.
parks, reserves, national parks and beaches are all closed.
you can get fined for driving to far away from your residing suburb.
church is cancelled,
saturday sport is cancelled for the moment,
NBA, NRL and basically any sport is cancelled
we are doing online schooling (most hardest thing I've ever had to do)
and if you don't have to go into the office you work from home.
a have never ever lived through anything like this
and although we are missing some things
(like sending the boys to school)
there has been so much good to come out of this.
the amount of quality time we have spent together is amazing,
we go for bike rides daily and are finding so many great tracks around our area
and a bunch of hidden tracks that if you don't go riding you wouldn't know are there.
we have fires and roast marshmallows,
we have weekly movie nights,
jevan and I get to work out with each other,
i am cooking/baking more than I have ever done
and we have been able to go through the boys memory boxes and show them things we have kept.
which leads me to why I am blogging,
we showed the boys my blog books my mum gets printed every 2 years fo rummy birthday,
we realised while reading them how precious they are.
they are our families history.
those little moments that didn't seem like much are so important to us now.
Jevan told me I need to start blogging again because
"when he's 80 and sitting in a nursing home, he can sit down and read all the adventures and memories we have made."
as our boys get older we are realising how special and
precious those memories we have made are to us.
so here I am beginning my blogging journal again.
