Weekends Like These

this last weekend we got to spend it in what i think
was a little slice of paradise.
it's one of my all time favourite places to visit,
huskisson - jervis bay.
i never get sick of it.
white sand and blue aqua water,
it's pure bliss.
the reason we got to have a little getaway was to celebrate my nan and pops 80th birthday.
what an amazing achievement and great excuse to celebrate.
we spent the morning before the party at the beach,
we went for a swim,
found seashells,
built sandcastles,
walked in search of rock pools and crabs,
we found a tree to climb on,
we ate ice-cream before lunch time,
had fish and chips for lunch,
went and said hello to the sting rays and pelicans,
celebrated with delicious food (my fav the lemon meringue pies),
had a big break with family.
as we started on our way home we got a call that there had been ticks found near the trees the boys had been playing on.
so we pulled over just before heading up to kangaroo valley,
in front of a herd of cows.
(zayden was in cow heaven)
we took this as a perfect time to have a caramello koala pit stop
as jevan went through our car fibre by fibre.
the cows gave the boys the best entertainment.
this weekend has been one of my very favourite spent with my most favourite boys from this year.

Bracky's Angels

for the last couple of weeks braxton has been asking me alot of questions about angels and heaven.
i hadn't thought anything of it,
i just thought he had a primary lesson on it.
on sunday as i was making his sandwich and he was sitting up chatting away to me
(as he does - bras is my chatter)
he said "mum you know why i have learnt to ride my bike without training wheels?"
m: "why bracky?"
b: "my angels have been helping me"
m: "oh really, are they boy angels or girl angels?"
b: "they are boy angels"
m: "do you know who you angels are?"
b: "no but they have died"
b: "they also come and play with me at school"
b: "and when you were in adelaide mum, one of the angels came and stood next to daddy and spoke to daddy and then he went back up to heaven."
i told him how special it was that he can see angels and that he's allowed to talk to them if he ever wanted.
i was tearing it up by this point.
he didn't need any prompting when he was telling me all this,
he spoke as if they were apart of his every day life.
i would like to think that his angels are his uncle and papa.
two people he has never met in this life.
i love picturing his uncle and his papa standing on either side of him being his guardian,
protecting him and keeping him safe.
