A Deserved Tribute

Being Mother's Day I decided to dedicate this post to my mother - Ann Nicholls.

When I think of my mum 3 words come to mind.

FIERCE
PASSIONATE
LOYAL

I owe a WHOLE lot to my mum.

She withstood the excruciating pains of labour, she persevered through the multitude of sleepless nights, she taught me how to crawl, walk, talk and run. She taught me the love of Jesus Christ through her own actions and deeds. She taught me to have faith and charity. She spent countless grieving nights with me on my floor hugging me when she lost her baby son.

This story is how I feel about my mum.

A Little Spirit Child is ready to come to Earth.

Heavenly Father: "It's your turn. Are you ready?"
Spirit Child: "No, I don't want to go. It's a strange place down there. I'm afraid."
Heavenly Father: "I will send an angel to watch over you."
Spirit Child: "But they speak a strange language there and I don't even know it."
Heavenly Father: "Your angel will whisper words of love to you until you understand."
Spirit Child: "But I'll have a new body and I won't know how to use it. I won't even know how to walk."
Heavenly Father: "Your angel will hold you every step you take."
Spirit Child: "But I'm afraid I'll get lost. I might not find my way back to you."
Heavenly Father: "Your angel will kneel beside you as you pray."
Spirit Child: "But..."
Heavenly Father: "It's time to go. You must go now."
Spirit Child: "But I don't even know my angel's name."
Heavenly Father: "It doesn't matter. You will just call her mother."

I don't express my love enough to my mother.
She has been my angel throughout my whole life. She has been my constant beside my side. She has struggled my struggles with me, she has endured my trials with me. She has consistently knelt in pray for my welfare and safety.

Through her example and love she has taught and raised me to be the person, daughter, sister, wife and mother I am today.

She is a devoted and loving grandmother - so much that the only person my son wanted to see this morning was his "Grammy". If it was anybody else I would have been so gutted but my mum deserves that at most love and praise.

I hope one day that my sons and the children that are yet to come to this earth feel like this - the way I do my own mum. I hope I can raise them with the love, patience, kindness and compassion she did me.

Happy Mothers Day Mum.
