ever since we moved out, jevan's favourite word (i some what dislike it) is BUDGET.
he is very good he has budgets for EVERYTHING, sometimes i even think he knows them off by heart.
so as you guess it every occasion we go out for is on a "budget".
we had $50 to cover valentines day (incl. cards).
this year we are trying to put in a lot of thought and effort into our dates, basically you can't do the same thing you would normally do on a "budget" anyway.
we decided that I would meet jevan at his office in the city and we would walk through the botanical gardens to woolloomooloo, grab a hotdog (or two) from Harry's Cafe walk to Yoguberry (DIVINE) and then head back to Darling Harbour where my journey began.
$10 (Parking) +
$25 (Hot Dogs with Drinks) +
$8.20 (Yoguberry , if you kissed your lover at the counter you got 20% off, so naturally we did that)
$5 (Cards)
=
Just under $50
So I can say we did stick within our budget : ).
Even though I wish we could just be lavish and do whatever our heart desires, i'm enjoying this part of our life because we are able to spend quality time with each other and make our own fun and memories.
So even though this was the cheapest Valentines Day we have EVER (and i mean ever) had it was the best and most successful.
I'm so grateful for my budget-savy husband.
Happy Belated Valentine's Day.
(Also a BIG BIG THANK YOU to my lovely parents who gave up their valentines day to babysit)
