My Makai

on our way home from grammy and grampy's sunday night dinner
we drove past a high school.
i hear from the back makai saying
"mum i don't want to go to high school"
i asked him why he didn't want to go there.
his reply "because they will have lots of words i don't know there mum"
these last three weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster for me.
we have found out makai has a learning difficulty.
one of the things he struggles with is when it comes to forming shapes of letters in his head.
which is making reading and writing very challenging for him.
so because of this he has started to see an occupational therapist.
he has been a champ and he is super proud of his achievements he has made in just a week.
but hearing this little boy's fear of not going to high school broke my heart.
but he doesn't know what i know,
that he is going to be great man.
this family is a team
and we are are going to work through this and make sure he gets to the other side.
we are going to be his cheer squad
and we will be there to hold him up when he's given all his has.
we will make sure he doesn't get left behind ever.
this experience already has bought me patience that i never knew existed in me.
it will require persistence but most of all love to support this little boy.
my boys will honestly never know how much i love them.
they are the best part of me and jevan.
they are our all.
they are the warmth that fills our hearts and our home.
they are the reason we get up each morning and do what we do.
their smile can light me up and give me the courage to keep going on.
they will never know the influence they have over me.
as i look back over the last 2 years i can see heavenly fathers hand in placing makai where he needed to be at this time in his life.
his school have been an amazing support and guide to him and myself during this new experience.
his present and past teacher, his reading teacher and deputy principal
have looked after my boy so well.
i could never have asked for a better place to send my child each day knowing that he has people that love him and want him to succeed just as much as jevan and i.
this is a tender mercy and one that i will be forever grateful for.

Bro Snugs

i love that even though each of the boys have their own bed,
they still would rather fall asleep with each other all on one bed.
at least when it comes to winter time,
they can keep each other warm with their body heat !
but i do love hearing their laughs and giggles, stories about pokemon, planning the next days adventures and mischievous plans they concoct.
they are so lucky to have each other.

Jellybean Pool

my girlfriends and i have been having girls dates every 2 months.
and this month nikita arranged the date.
i'm lazy when it's me we just go out to eat lol.
- i love food !
but she planned to do the jellybean pool walk in the blue mountains
and then breakfast at a cafe in glenbrook.
the day was so much fun !
i absolutely LOVE hiking so i was completely down for it
and it was already on my bucket list.
i always have such a fabulous time with these ladies.
i always come out with some crazy memory.
well this time i accidentally pushed octavia's thong in to the pool
(the deep part where we couldn't see to the bottom)
and that is one of my big fears.
going into water where you can't see the bottom
- i'm petrified of sharks like it's ridiculous !
i don't even like not being able to touch the pool in the deep end.
so anyways it probably took us a good 40 minutes to rescue this thong.
she got brave and ended up swimming to get it.
after that we went to the shallow end
(where we peer pressured kita into swimming with us,
even though she had no swimmers)
the water was AMAZING, it was perfect.
after that we hit up breakfast.
we all got these ridiculous monster milkshakes and made ourselves sick on them.
we were all full before our actual breakfast came out.
i LOVE girls dates !

Colour Run 2K16

i finally have some spare time
(while the boys are watching pokemon)
to blog about the colour run night we did a couple weeks back.
it was so much fun !
almost all our boys enjoyed it except for our little red.
he got sprayed in the face with the colour
after that he was not all for it.
the two older boys enjoyed hi-fiving people as they ran past the stations.
makai thought he was running a "real serious" race.
their most favourite part was throwing the colour at each other after we had finished.
overall it was an AWESOME family activity
and we will be back next year
- maybe minus zayden !

Light Bulb Moment

so this week i had a light bulb moment.
it has just occurred to me that my life is no longer mine
and it is dedicated to raising my children.
i always knew it was dedicated to raising them
but really i just realised my life isn't mine anymore lol.
i would see people on social media travelling or going for hikes or going to the beach,
things that i want to be doing.
and then a thought came to me,
that i am only 26.
i have plenty of time to tick off bucket adventures and to travel to amazing places.
i will never get this time back with my boys ever again.
once they are grown up
that's it.
and let's face it i have 3 sons they will literally all leave me.
and ever since i have come to this realisation i have been less stressed about everything.
dinner hasn't been on the table at exactly 5 o'clock,
because homework and reading time is more important.
bike rides are more important,
learning how to play a sport is more important.
answering there questions is more important.
if they house isn't vacuumed once a day
if they aren't in bed at 7 on the dot.
-that's ok,
fortunately the crumbs will still be there tomorrow.
being a mum is the best thing i have done.
and i'm trying to embrace it
every moment of it
- the bad, the ugly and the hair raising.

EnZed

we just got back from visiting one of my most favourite places in the world.
new zealand.
there is something about this place that just makes you feel relaxed and at peace.
the scenery is amazing.
this year we finally got a sunny day.
for the last 2 years when we go to visit we have been rained out.
so we spent the day paddle boarding and swimming at the beach.
we ate at my FAVOURITE bakery
- chicken camenbert pie
so delish !
we spent time with family,
we played games,
we slept,
isaac got ordained to a deacon,
we ate,
we drank a whole lot of L&P,
the boys ate rashuns,
it was a perfect quick getaway.
i say this every year but next time i am staying longer than 3 days !
