Year Two

my dear sweet kaikai.
you will never know how great you are going to become
but i can see.
your diligence, strength and determination is amazing.
i'm so glad heavenly father gave you these gifts.
he knew you must have needed these for all the struggles and trials you are to come up against in life.
standing on the side line watching you struggle is one of the most hardest things i have to do.
i see you try your absolute best and hardest
and one day it is all going to worth it.
those moments when you feel like you are not smart enough or are too "dumb" to understand
remember just to hold on just for a little bit longer
and you will get it.
don't forget how much mum, dad and your brothers love you.
bracky cried sending you off to year two today,
he had to make sure he ran to you for his last hug and kiss.
i loved even more that you gave him a hug and kiss back.
you are the best big brother he could have asked for.
i know great things are in store for you and they are just around the corner,
my dear sweet makai.

Q&A's

the boys seriously do or say the most random hilarious stuff sometimes.
today i took a little good old power (nana) nap.
- you know you take them as well
i must have fallen asleep with my mouth open
and i woke up to zayden putting lego in my mouth.
all you people that keep telling me you don't believe this kid is crazay and wild
he put LEGO in my MOUTH and he's two.
braxton's our thinker.
he thinks realllllll deep about EVERYTHING.
so we were driving past the cemetery yesterday
and he was asking about what happened to uncle mark.
i told him someone shot him.
Q1: Was it with a real life gun?
A1: Yep, a real life one.
Q2: Why did they shoot him?
A2: Uncle Mark had some not good friends.
Q3: Oh, so were uncle mark's friends pirates?
A3: Uhhh, yes yes they were pirates.
Q4: Were they after his treasure?
A4: Uhhhh, yes yes that's what they were after.
Braxton: I will never be friends with pirates then mum.
this little snippet is a little bit more on the gross side
but it made me laugh so hard at how random his thought was.
later in the afternoon braxton was on the toilet while i was doing my hair.
Q1: Mum, does my bumhole get bigger when i do big poo's.
A1: *insert cricket sounds and a very blown away look on my face* No braxton, no it doesn't.
kids.

Eight (long) Years

8 years, EIGHT !
each year flies past us and we can't seem to catch it.
this year was a good one for us.
we had some really good moments,
new zealand topping off the list.
i never knew that i could love someone for this long,
like come on,
EIGHT YEARS !
i told jevan yesterday he grows on me more and more each year.
our marriage gets better each year,
we learn (more I) to be more patient, more compassionate, more willing to compromise.
he sees the very worst of me but still sees the very best.
he makes me smile more now eight years later.
there are still times i really would love to slap his face
but the good outweighs the bad in so many different ways.
he is the best part of me.
there is noone else that i could or would want to share this adventure with.
he is my rock and my best friend.

Christmas 2016

yet again,
christmas time flew by without giving me a chance to sit and write about it until now.
we had a wonderful christmas.
the boys were super excited,
especially our little braxton.
he is the definition of the christmas spirit.
you couldn't wipe the smile off his face from christmas eve all the way through to christmas day.
makai wrote his first letter to santa this year.
it's time like these i realise they are growing up.
zayden knew 110% what christmas was about this year.
he was so excited and kept looking at all his presents,
they couldn't believe they were all for him.
the boys really enjoyed choosing their own gifts to give this year for their family members.
christmas eve jevan and i spent all day busting our butts off putting their presents altogether so we could enjoy christmas morning without hearing
"can you set it up now pleaseeeeeeeeeeee."
we spent christmas eve dinner with the nicholls,
we did the nativity and zayden thought his home-made towel costume was on point,
he wouldn't take it off.
we read the scriptures and opened presents from this side of the family.
we came home and watched the polar express and then went to bed for santa to come.
this is the first year we have had one that didn't go straight to sleep,
so lucky santa (who was absolutely exhausted) had to wait until mr makai feel off to sleep.
christmas morning was awesome.
seeing the boys (who woke up at 5am) faces when they realised santa had come was priceless.
these are really the very best christmas's i will experience in my life.
we read the scriptures and spoke a little about the birth of jesus,
and then the anticipation of opening the presents was over.
as they went through their sacks,
toys were flying everywhere.
they loved giving their presents that they had bought for each other out.
excitement, gratitude, laughter and joy filled our home.
we got to spend christmas going to sacrament this year.
the songs were amazing and i couldn't help but feel love.
i am so grateful for the birth of the saviour.
we spent christmas lunch with the ormsbys.
it was a ball.
the food was delicious, the company was great and the table setting (my sister in law had it on point.)
we came home and had mum and dad over from christmas dinner,
which pretty much consisted of left overs from christmas eve.
this was one of my most favourite christmas's yet.
