A Town And A Forest

so this week has been SUUUUUUPER trying,
like unbelievably.
but before this crazy patient-testing week we spent a wonderful weekend with the boys,
or "they guys" as zayden calls them.
my cousin had his 18th last friday down in huskisson,
so OF COURSE i take any opportunity to go down there and do some exploring.
this time instead of doing the coastal trip we went the country route.
we stopped at berrima and penrose forest.
berrima is like stepping back in time.
the buildings there are amazingly cute.
there is a goal that the boys were desperately wanting to go inside and see
but unfortunately they had to settle for a tour of the courthouse.
which was creepy enough.
the mannequins they have their are next level CREEEEEEPY.
the court house in some sections are dark
so i told our bravest bracky to go and open the door in front of us.
there was a man trap the boys thought was AWESOME
and they saw this contraction that use to go in the prisoners mouths to make them not talk.
makai was so freaked out by that.
they have done a beautiful job at keeping it in its original form.
the boys came out telling me how scary it was.
i told them that if they do anything bad they would end up in a courthouse like that.
they shook there heads violently saying i will NEVER do anything bad EVER.
we wondered up and down the (one) main street looking at all the original shops that are still in use.
berrima even has an awesome park there.
which was the perfect stop for the boys to run and be crazy
and for me to sit and do nothing.
we went to the lolly swagman
and after so many fights about which lolly they were going to get they finally agreed upon one.
just before we left we stopped at the bakery (of course.)
next up was penrose forest.
ever been to a forest at dusk?
so spooky.
and the wind was not helping the situation.
the boys loved seeing the different stages of the trees and searching around for pine cones.
we headed down to huskisson through the kangaroo valley,
that view with the sunset was SPECTACULAR.
if i wasn't pushed for time we would have stopped for a photo.
the party was fun,
the boys had a blast.
you would find braxton and zayden in the garage dancing, watching beer pong
and at the polaroid photo wall.
you would find makai watching the rugby league on tv right by the fire.

On Repeat

today i could have realllllllllllly hurt the boys
( i didn't, of course)
but totally could have,
without regrets to.
i'm pretty sure i am one day away from being admitted to a home
and you'll find me there in a straight jacket,
swaying back and forth with my hair all crazy and stuff.
by 10am i had a square of chocolate
- whoever knows me will know that means i had a BAD day.
yes it was one dark chocolate but still before lunch time
BAAAAD DAAAAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they wake up sooking and whinging,
i drop them to school fighting with each other,
zayden complains about everything ALL FREAKING DAY,
picking up the boys after school,
-still fighting and whinging
right up until bed
WHINGING.SOOKING.FIGHTING.COMPLAINING.REPEAT
seriouslyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy !!!!!!
i want to put myself on timeout so that they will leave ME alone.
and guess what peeps,
holidays begin NEXT WEEK !
i normally love holidays because i love having them all at home
but these ones they are bit different.
wish me luck,
you might find me in that home 2 and a half weeks from now.

Queen's B.Day

this year we had a quiet long weekend celebrating our queen's bday.
we took the boys on a hike to horseshoe falls in hazel brook.
we thought after the recent rain the waterfalls would be pretty sweet.
and they were.
you could hear them as soon as we got out of the car.
the walk down to the waterfall was FULL of water.
i came ill-prepared and had white chucks on.
let's take a moment to be honest
- jevan and i had been fighting all morning,
the plans i wanted to do fell through so i was being a bit of a grump.
jevan told me to get ready and we would just go somewhere.
i really didn't think we would end up hiking
but we did.
my once white chucks are now a very yuck brown colour.
i got the way down there with them being white,
probably 50m to the car i stepped in a massive massive puddle of water,
and that was the end of that.
even though the morning was pretty crappy,
the afternoon was so much fun.
there was a cave we crawled into behind the waterfall,
there were trees fallen down that we climbed on,
massive rocks to try and fit through.
the best thing about having all boys is the toilet issue isn't really an issue.
they go wherever whenever.
we had a family dinner that night,
church on sunday followed by dinner at friends
and then on monday we had a day at home,
playing basketball and rugby with each other.
we also realise NONE of the boys are great losers.

Everyday Giggles

there are some things i want to jot down
that the boys have said or done that have made me giggle.

FIRST STORY !
at church on sunday,
the primary president came over to us and told us little story from sharing time.
sister vaitusi was talking to them about tithing,
she told them if the bishop isn't there that his counsellors can also take their tithing slips.
sister v asked if anybody knew what the bishops name was.
everybody (including our boys) put their hand up with excitement
and said "Bishop Hobby."
then sister v asked if anybody knew who his counsellors were.
both makai and braxton didn't raise their hand and had NO idea who was the bishops counsellors.
the primary president told them boys put your hand up it's your dad,
they didn't believe her lol.
i thought to myself why do they think he sits up on the stand every sunday then.

SECOND STORY !
yesterday makai and braxton wrote a sign to stick on their door.
they were telling us but i wasn't really paying attention
we may or may not have been falling asleep for a nap.....
(having older kids is AWESOME.)
so this morning i went into their room completely forgot about the sign they made,
it read
"Do Nat Gome In "
it was meant to read
"Do Not Come In "
the boys are really embracing their polynesian side when it comes to spelling their words.

THIRD STORY !
we were having family home evening last night,
zayden was chucking a tantrum
-probably his 135,000th for the day.
and he ended it with his arms folded saying
"I'm not going to live with heavenly father forever!"
i told him that we would miss seeing him because we wanted to live with heavenly father.
with his arms folded and a scrunched up face he replied
"FINE, i'll live with heavenly father forever then."

Brother Banter

yesterday while i was in the shower,
jevan came in laughing so hard.
he told he had just heard the funniest story.
so the story goes...
braxton and zayden were arguing
(more bracky stirring just for kicks)
braxton got zayden so mad,
so zayden's call back to him was
"well bracky, you look like PIG THE PUG"
(add a humph with folded arms right after it.)
this made jevan laugh and then it made me laugh so hard.
i wasn't there but could totally picture how zayden said it to bracky.
it was the ultimate drop the mic call to his big bro.

Vivid 2017

vivid 2017 was fun.
the boys and i caught the train into the city,
-because let's be for real it's way cheaper (and quicker) to get in via train than car.
because makai and zayden had early eye specialist appointments they all got the day off school.
(YAY)
so we headed in earlier and checked out the Museum of Contemporary Art.
braxton LOVED it.
he could have walked forever through the halls and talked about what he thought the art was about.
makai and zayden were begging to go out,
as we went up and up to each level there whining got louder and louder.
zayden and makai got maccas for dinner,
braxotn had his eye on those chips on a stick so he got that.
and danced around rubbing in his brothers faces how delicious they were.
seeing their faces as the lights got turned on was awesome.
i loved their little voices screaming "THEY'RE ON MUM !"
joovy met us at 6 and the boys got to choose their glow sticks.
-pretty sure that's their favourite part of the night
makai and zayden got a swirly one and our dear braxton chose a wand.
(it later turned into a gun which he pretended to shoot at everything)
we had to finish up our night early because our little kaikai had a stomach ache,
he got it when we were on the train heading out and was a little trooper and lasted 4 hours walking around so we could enjoy our vivid night together.
when we got home we promised the boys ice-creams,
but with makai sick and zayden crashing out on the train ride home
our little bracky boy got a big chocolate fudge sundae all to himself
and he ate it ALL up.
but don't worry zayden hit me up the next morning because "i didn't get my ice-scream."

 jevan and zayden's favourite.

 my favourite.
