My Kai-Kai

mr makai got to go on his first excursion yesterday.
i was lucky enough to tag along with them.
he was so excited,
he even made me run into the school gates because he didn't want too miss the bus
- he had 20 mins to go.
his smile was beaming across his face
when he finally got thirst pick at the bus.
to my surprise he is a back seat rider.
i thought he would not talk to me all day and hang out with his buddies.
he did quite the opposite.
he would come up to me at random times and want to hold my hand,
tell me his favourite parts of the day.
i got to watch him overcome some animal fears he has.
but the most special part of the whole day for me,
was when we all piled back on the bus at the end of the day,
he asked if he could share a seat with me on the way home.
we talked all the way home about everything.
people tell me i need to have a girl in my life to feel complete,
or feel sorry that i'm missing out on something.
but they must not have a makai in their life.
he is sweet and genuinely cares about you.
he can drive me ABSOLUTELY insane but this kid has nothing but love.
he is my kaikai.

p.s - those kindy teachers are special kinda people. having 5/6 year olds 6 hours a day and keeping that upbeat attitude all that time - wow.
